lalala...lalala...

i haven't been singing in a while now and i'm really, really missing it. i used to be a song leader at church but i resigned...

i still sing in the bathroom or in my room and hum a tune while working but i miss the part where you lead the congregation to worship God. through the songs God's spirit is moving to heal, renew, and bless His people. i just miss the ministry, and how God is using me to lead the the people to Him. aw... i really miss it.

anyways, as i was cleaning the room i saw my guitar in the corner and i know that he's feeling sad that i ignore him and let dust settle on him. so i played it and it was way out of tune! i tuned it and tried playing a couple of songs i remember. a song flashed in my mind and it was "Strong Enough" by Stacie Orrico. i looked online for the chords of the song and thought it's easy to play.

i wanted to try singing this song, and there's a website where you get to record your song online. it's basically a capella, and after recording you get to play it and if you messed up you can try again. i've recorded twice on that website, the first song is I Promise by Jaci Velasquez and the other one is Strong Enough by Stacie Orrico. here is a link if you'd like to listen to my rendition of the songs http://www.midomi.com/index.php?action=main.profile&username=happy14.

just wanna say that i'm not a professional singer!!! i admit i'm not really good and i'm not singing to get the applause of the people- i sing for the glory of GOD. if people will give compliments for my singing then i bring it back to God. if it's a criticism (hopefully objective) then that'll serve as a motivation for enhancement.

To GOD be the glory!

pimples, pimples and more pimples

i haven't been sleeping early for the past few days ( as if I'm really sleeping early) and i really feel so lethargic during the day. since i started blogging i usually sleep around 5 or 6 am ( shh.. my husband's gonna get mad if he knows about this) and wake up at 12 noon. before i used to sleep at 3 or 4 am and still get 8-9 hours of sleep. now i sleep for only 6 hours so i got really sluggish. and this morning i woke up at 11 am because we have to prepare for church. i found it difficult to get up, i'm still so sleepy and i have to ask my mom for an extension- "ma, 5 minutes"...

when i got up i didn't prepare or anything. instead i laid down on the floor and slept for another 5 minutes. this is my attitude actually. if i have an appointment, say, at 10 am, i have to set the alarm 2 hours earlier so i can always give myself a 'sleep extension' hahaha.

i noticed that i've got two obvious bumps on my face. ah, alam ko na. perhaps it was caused by the moisturizer i used yesterday that irritated my so sensitive face causing breakouts, or probably because my sleeping habit changed.

omg. ang pangit naman!!!

in the Bible it is said that there is a time for everything, a season under heaven. God designed the day for us to work and the night for us to sleep. but because of our different lifestyles where one has to work at night and sleep in the morning, we may not follow the original purpose of sleeping at night. we must realize that sufficient sleep especially at night will help the body restore its strength, enhances cognitive performance, memory, and health. lack of sleep actually causes weight gain (no wonder i've gained a pound or two!) and pimples too.

sleep is important not just to maintain a clear complexion but to rest ourselves from worries of the day. 'yaan mo na nga yang pimples na yan. that's alright. after a few days it will shrink and then gone! thanks to avon porefection i get blemish-free, clear skin! uhmm, not yet. after 1-2 weeks i'll be seeing results. guess i have to get more zzzzzzzzzzzzz's..........

lights off please!!!

at exactly 2030 last night the Philippines participated in the Earth Hour by switching the lights off for 1 hour. this advocacy started in Sydney 2 years ago to raise awareness of the effects of climate change in the planet. many countries also took part in this major event.

fuel is one of the sources of electricity in some countries and when combusted emits pollutants and greenhouse gases that traps heat in the atmosphere; thus bringing forth global warming. turning off lights is a way to decrease the effects of climate change in the planet.

the family joined the whole country in its support for Earth Hour just as we did last year.

i signed up for Earth Hour and expressed my participation in the event

my kids during the lights off

my sister willingly gave up the lights though she's reading

my mom busily counting a customer's change in the shop

i'm glad to have contributed in the advocacy against global warming. even in simple ways like this, we can make a big difference. i've read some comments about people who are against this campaign. they just don't care at all for the world they're living in. no wonder we suffer from climate change and global warming!

ignoring the detractors, this event actually unified the people around the world and showed its concern for the environment. the earth is the place God gave us to live. and God gave us the responsibility of caring for it, not destroying it. God may have given us wisdom to make our lives better through electricity and automobiles and all that but not to the expense of earth's destruction. we must make every effort to save it and care for it because when the it's gone, we're gone too.

to join with us in the campaign against global warming and a better earth, visit http://www.earthhour.org/home/

me

ever since we started to have an internet connection, i became interested with free personality tests to know more about myself. there's one site before that I used to login to everyday to take quirky personality tests. it was entertaining. that's one of the hobbies i had before- taking up personality tests- aside from playing online games. that's like 2 years ago. i'd like to rediscover myself again- so i took a test from www.learnmyself.com and realized how accurate the results were after taking the test. i was so amazed. i mean, i know myself but i didn't realize that until i've read my personality report! i guess this goes to show that psychologists know me better than i know myself! hahaha!
i've convinced my husband to do the same, and took a test from that site. i've discovered things in him that i didn't know though we've been living together for 8 years. i was so surprised upon learning the results... it wasn't a turn off or anything. it was fun indeed, learning more about ourselves.
my goal is to know in which career i would excel, basically the reason why i took the personality test. one site revealed (www.kisa.ca )that my personality type is ISFP (introverted, sensing, feeling, perceiving) and that jobs which would expose my artistic side are a great match. Chef, designer, editor, writer, artist, technician- to name a few. Famous people with ISFP personalities include Barbara Streisand, John Travolta, Brooke Shields, Kevin Costner, Steven Spielberg and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (www.mypersonality.info). aw. and i'm so proud :)

from http://www.learnmyself.com/, here's my personality report:

Everyone has different personalities and God fashioned us that way. Differences in our personalities shows that we're truly special. Imagine how God took time to create each one of us, designing in us a variety of attitudes, virtues and principles which makes up our unique personality. Perhaps I am reserved and distant and difficult to understand. But God lovingly chose us inspite of our flaws and saved us from our sins and His wrath. He has a purpose why He designed that way- it's to give God the glory through our lives and different personalities.
